Boiseko Gazteak

Boise’s Basque children have been learning and performing the traditional dances from Euskal Herria since “jota lessons” began in 1948. For the past forty years, this group has been called Boiseko Gazteak.

During the 2024-25 season, nearly 100 children (ages 4-14) have been meeting each week on the Basque Block (Basque Center, Basque Museum, and Anduiza Fronton) to not only learn dances and songs, but to create and strengthen friendships. 

Our group has been so fortunate to have ten dedicated musicians and twenty-one instructors that give their time and efforts each week at practice and at the performances. 

Parents of the dancers also help by volunteering at various Boiseko Gazteak and Basque Center events, making it a true community effort.  Eskerrik asko danori!
