Biotzetik Basque Choir

Located in Boise, Idaho, USA, Biotzetik Basque Choir is a group of volunteer singers who appreciate bringing good music and Basque culture together. We aim to educate, promote and perpetuate our Basque music with everyone, worldwide.

We perform in formal and informal venues for a wide variety of audiences. We sing multi-voice a cappella pieces and folk songs with accompaniment – a mix of formal choral and folk songs as appropriate for each event.

Biotzetik, which in Basque means “from the heart”, was founded in 1986 by a small group of Basque community members who loved and wanted to learn more about Basque music. With guidance and assistance from local and Basque Country music directors, the group grew its membership and musical repertoire to include breadth and depth of a cappella choral arrangements, folksongs and general harmonized Basque music. We are under the direction of Patty Gabica.
