Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation

The Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation is dedicated to advancing the great State of Idaho. We believe that this is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. For more than sixty years, we have provided support to organizations that make Idaho great. Through volunteer leadership and low costs, we have maximized the funds we can provide through our two main efforts, a scholarship program and a competitive grants program.

Scholarships

Like Laura Moore Cunningham, the current Directors of the Foundation believe that educating promising Idaho youth will not only benefit those students, but all of Idaho. The students of today are the entrepreneurs, educators, innovators, care providers and leaders of tomorrow.

Since its inception, the Foundation has provided scholarships to Idaho’s college students. Annually, we provide over 500 scholarships (over two million dollars) to students at the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, Boise State University, College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University, Lewis Clark State College, North Idaho College, College of Southern Idaho, College of Western Idaho, Treasure Valley Community College, and College of Eastern Idaho. Students routinely tell us that removing part of their financial burden allows them to focus on their studies and extracurricular activities, allowing them more opportunities to grow and learn during their college years.

Grants

Each year the Foundation accepts applications from throughout the State, allowing organizations of all types to express their need. Each year those needs change, but we are consistently impressed with the good work these organizations are doing in Idaho. There are so many volunteers and community leaders throughout Idaho who make each community more successful. From after school programs and field trip bussing to providing breakthrough technologies to improve rural medicine, the Foundation has been able to aid communities throughout the State.
