Umetatik bertso giroan hezia, 2006an iritsi zen lehenengoz Bizkaiko Bertsolari Txapelketako finalera. Eskualdeko txapela irabazi zuen urte hartan eta harrezkero izan diren final guztietara sailkatu da Bizkaian. 2018an Bizkaiko Txapeldun izan zen. 2005, 2009, 2013 eta 2017ko Euskal Herriko txapelketan parte hartu zuen. 2024tik, gainera, Euskal Herriko Bertsozale Elkarteko lehendakaritza taldeko kidea da.

Raised in a bertso environment since childhood, she first reached the final of the Bizkaia Bertsolari Championship in 2006. She won the regional championship that year and has qualified for all the finals in Bizkaia since then. She was the Bizkaia Champion in 2018. She participated in the Basque Country championship in 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017. Since 2024, she has also been a member of the presidency of the Basque Bertsozale Elkarte.

Kazetaria da ikasketaz. Bertsolaritzaz gain, bestelako diziplinetan ere aritua: prentsako kolaboratzaile, gidoilari, irratiko esatari, idazle…
12 urterekin hasi zen bertsotan Juanjo Respaldizarekin, eta Markina-Xemeingo bertso eskolan jarraitu zuen gerora. Eskolarteko txapelketetan parte hartu eta Bizkaiko hainbat txapel jantzi zituen, baita gazte sariketetan ere.
Bizkaiko Txapelketan 2012an kantatu zuen lehenengoz, eta 2014an Lea-Artibaiko txapelduna izan zen.
2016an Bizkaiko Txapelketako finalista izan zen eta Txapelketa Nagusira sailkatu zen handik. 2018an ere finalista izan zen, eta 2021 nahiz 2023an Bizkaiko Txapelduna.

She is a journalist by training. In addition to bertsolaritza, she has also worked in other disciplines: press collaborator, scriptwriter, radio announcer, writer…
She began bertsoa at the age of 12 with Juanjo Respaldiza, and later continued at the bertso school in Markina-Xemein. She participated in inter-school tournaments and won several Bizkaia trophies, as well as youth awards.

She sang for the first time in the Bizkaia Championship in 2012, and in 2014 he was the champion of Lea-Artibai. She was a finalist in the Bizkaia Championship in 2016 and qualified for the Main  Championship from there. She was also a finalist in 2018, and the Bizkaia Champion in 2021 and 2023.

Interpretaritza eta itzulpengintza eta piano ikasketak ditu eginak. Itzultzaile, bikoizlari, ikerlari eta irakasle lanetan ibilia da. Fredi anaiarekin eman zuen izena Algortako bertso eskolan, eta eskolartean nahiz Txapelketetan emaitza bikainak lortu izan ditu. Bizkaiko (2006) txapelduna da. Bertsozale elkartean eta bestela saltsa askotan dabil.

Bertsolaritzan lehen pausuak: Senperen, Herri Urrats batean. Jon Lopategik bidali zuen, Bizkaitik bertsolari gazte bat behar zutelako. Bertsokide Jon Martin, Miren Artetxe eta Erika Lagoma izan zituen. Anekdota polit bat bada egun horretakoa: Ernest Alkatek, bere aurkezpena egin zuenean, Xabier Paya esan beharrean, Xabier “Paella” esan zuen!

He has studied interpretation, translation and piano. He has worked as a translator, double interpreter, researcher and teacher. He enrolled with his brother Fredi in the bertso school in Algorta, and has achieved excellent results both in school and in Championships. He is the champion of Bizkaia (2006). He is active in the Bertsozale association and in many other groups.

His first steps in bertsolaritza: In Senper, in Herri Urrats batean. Jon Lopategi sent him because they needed a young bertsolarist from Bizkaia. He had fellow bertsokaris Jon Martin, Miren Artetxe and Erika Lagoma. There is a nice anecdote from that day: when Ernest Alkat introduced himself, instead of saying Xabier Paya, Xabier said “Paella”!
